Welcome to the CSE Labs help pages. This is a collection of help files, instructions, and frequently asked questions that will assist you in working on or with the CSE Labs systems. The CS&E Systems Staff maintains the machines in both the CS&E and CSE Labs, along with these help pages.
Systems Staff is the support service for the Computer Science and Engineering Department (CS&E) and CSE Labs computers.
The Systems Operator is a member of systems staff who is available during our business hours to answer questions and solve user problems. Contact Systems Staff for more information.
Systems Staff is made up of full-time staff members and part-time student members who are experienced and knowledgeable about a variety of Information Technology areas.
Systems Staff members will answer questions, solve problems, install software, and provide repairs for any CS&E or CSE Labs computers. We also maintain the CS&E network, CS&E Departmental and class web pages, and backup systems.
*Systems Staff members do not answer questions about home computers, unless they are owned by the CS&E department.

All members of Systems Staff should be contacted through the operator e-mail address or office phone number, and not through an individual staffer’s e-mail or phone number. The operator e-mail address and voicemail go to the request queue which all staffers can view, so requests will be processed in a timely manner in the event of an individual staffer being out of the office.
